Samsung Galaxy S7 with Exynos 8890 SoC Launched in Malaysia at RM2,699

A couple of months after announcing the Samsung Galaxy S7, Samsung has finally launched the device today in Malaysia. The device along with Galaxy S7 Edge are first unveiled at the Mobile World Congress and were already available in most parts of the world. Earlier the company had offered six months of free premium subscription of video-on-demand service iflix in Malaysia along with Galaxy S7 Edge. Like in India, only the 32GB storage variant is made available in Malaysia.

The device is priced at RM2699 (approx $692 / Rs. 46,100) and comes in three colors – Gold, Silver, and Black. Apart from the improved specifications, the devices pack some new features such as an always-on display, IP68 water and dust proof certification, thermal cooling system. The device run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the latest TouchWiz UI laid on top. In the U.S and China, the devices are powered by Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor, but in the Malaysia, Samsung launched with Exynos 8890 octa-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz.

The 5.1-inch Galaxy S7 and 5.5-inch Galaxy S7 Edge comes with Super AMOLED Quad HD display. Both the variants include 4GB of RAM and as of now they are available in just 32GB storage. The Galaxy S7 is backed by a 3,000mAh battery while the Galaxy S7 Edge includes a slightly bigger 3,600mAh battery. Talking about the camera, there is a 12MP dual pixel rear camera with an aperture of f/1.7 and PDAF that can record videos in 4K resolution.

On the front, is a 5MP camera with the same f/1.7 aperture that can capture better selfies even in low-light conditions. Both the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge supports dual SIM dual standby with the help of hybrid SIM slot where you can place a MicroSD card (supports upto 200GB) instead of the second SIM. Also read the reviews of the both Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, if you are interested in purchasing the device.
