At the beginning of this month, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo had launched the two new smartphones Vivo V3 and Vivo V3 Max here in the Indian market. Both the devices come with a slim profile and supports 4G LTE, which has been normal in mid-range and high-range smartphones. These are first devices from the Vivo to launch in India earlier than in its home country. The Vivo V3 is priced at Rs. 17,980 while the V3 Max costs you Rs. 23,980.
Design
Though both the devices come in different sizes, the design is almost same except the speaker grill placement on the bottom edge. The devices come built into a metallic body featuring a Vivo logo on the back and front of the device. The Vivo V3 measures 143.6 x 71 x 7.50 mm and weighs 138 grams and on the other hand, the Vivo V3 Max measures 153.9 x 77.1 x 7.58 mm and weighs 168 grams. Both the devices will be available only in Gold and Rose Gold color options. On the rear of the devices, we can find the fingerprint sensor which the company claims to unlock in just 0.5 seconds.
Display
The major differences between Vivo V3 and V3 Max can be found in the display department. The Vivo V3 sports a 2.5D 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display, and the V3 Max features a bigger and better 5.5-inch Full HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display. There is also a Gorilla Glass 3 protection for the display of Vivo V3 Max. As seen with the other Vivo devices, both the V3 and V3 Max comes with three capacitive touch buttons.The Smart Split option allow you to simultaneously use two apps side-by-side, this same feature will be officially introduced by Google in the upcoming Android N.
Camera
Talking about the camera, both the V3 and V3 Max comes with the same set of cameras. On the rear is a 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, and single LED flash. According to the company, the camera app can be activated in 0.7 seconds and take just 0.2 seconds to focus. For selfies, the company offers an 8MP front camera with an aperture of f/2.4 on both the devices. The fingerprint sensor on these devices can also be used as a shutter button. The Vivo V3 Max has an exclusive built-in feature that can boost the 8MP selfie to an amazing 32MP clarity.
Performance
The Vivo V3 comes powered by Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and coupled with Adreno 405 GPU and 3GB RAM. While the Vivo V3 Max includes 1.8Ghz Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 510 GPU and 4GB RAM. Both the devices features 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded additionally upto 128GB via MicroSD card slot. With a higher price tag, the V3 Max offers better performance than the V3 and with the Adreno 510 GPU, we can expect some lag free gaming on the V3 Max.
Battery
Vivo V3 Max with its bigger form factor includes a bigger 3,000mAh battery while the Vivo V3 is limited to just 2,550mAh battery capacity. The V3 Max also got the dual chip fast charging that ensures the battery to be fully charged in way lesser time than the conventional charging options. With just five minutes of charging, the V3 Max can give two hours of music playback. As of now the devices run on Android 5.1 Lollipop based FunTouch 2.5 UI and when the devices get the Marshmallow update, the battery life might get a little improvement with optimized Doze Mode.
