LeEco Le Max Smartphone Receives EUI 5.5 OTA Update in India

LeEco, formerly LeTV has released update to yet another of its handsets in India. After releasing the EUI 5.5012S to Le 1S, it’s affordable mid range handset; the Chinese brand is now rolling out a massive update to its premium flagship handset, Le Max, in the country. The size of the update is of 1207.67MB, which is approximately 1.2GB. So, first thing first, if you have this handset and have received the popup for this OTA (Over-the-Air) update, then we recommend you download the file over a Wi-Fi connection, but not on your mobile data. Note that this won’t update your device to Android Lollipop 5.1, the version of OS remains same, i.e. 5.0.2.

This stable release for Le Max brings a swell of changes with it, most of it moves around the addition of new features for its India Ecosystem. If you didn’t know it yet, LeEco is more than just a smartphone manufacturer. Before starting its mobile brand, the company has an established business as an online platform for content and applications. You’ll see them in a myriad of businesses like Internet TV, smart gadgets, e-commerce and more.

Talking more about the latest software update for LeMax, it adds applications like Levidi, LeView, and Leso service. The Levidi and LeView bring the video recommendation engine to its Indian audience, as it even makes sense since we have already mentioned that LeEco has a platform that brings streaming service and applications to the system. With EUI 5.5 its Indian users would be able to access the features on the very base that company is built upon.

Newly added Leso search bar would allow you to quickly search through the services like Levidi and LeView, which will recommend and save your favorite videos. As well as there are tons of improvements and optimization done in the camera and battery departments, which we would have to test it, then we can only know if it’s for better or worse.

Company has finally introduced the screen pinning option on this update, which would allow users to pin any task in the multitask window by pressing and holding the task, thus improving its security under some scenarios. You can now download the online themes, which the window to personal customization according to need. There are some welcoming changes you’ll see in apps like Music, Compass, Calendar, SMS and Dialer.
