Best Mid-Range Smartphones above Rs 15000 (March – April)
In the last few months, we have seen some pretty good smartphone packing decent specifications and priced comparatively lower what the device with almost same specifications cost a year back. Now most of the brands are concentrating over the premium and budget categories, but there are few smartphones launched in the month of March that fall in the Mid-range category and below are the details of those few smartphones.
Just before the MWC 2016, LG announced the all-new LG G Stylus 2 without mentioning the pricing and availability of the device. But now we got both the details but are limited to just South Korean market. It is priced at 396,000 KRW (approx $344 / Rs. 22,900) and is available via all the major carriers. According to the company, the device will be soon launched in the important markets across Asia, Europe, and America. The device comes with upgraded stylus that sports nano coated tip for more accuracy.
It features a 5.7-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) In-cell display and comes powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. There is 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage along with MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. It packs a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie camera on the front. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0. The device is backed by a 3,000mAh battery and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based UX UI laid on top.
Vernee Apollo is the first smartphone some the new Chinese brands called as Vernee. It comes with an affordable price tag of just $400 considering its premium build quality and high-end specifications. The Apollo is the only device next to Vivo XPlay 5S to feature a whopping 6GB of RAM. The upcoming Meizu Pro 6 and Samsung Galaxy Note 6 are also said to sport 6GB of RAM. It also has a 5.5-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display with 3D Touch support.
The device is powered by Helio X20 deca-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz. It has 128GB of internal storage that can be expanded upto another 128GB. In the camera front, the Apollo comes with a 21MP Sony IMX230 sensor on the back and an 8MP front facing camera. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. It has a USB Type-C port for faster data transfer speeds. The device will support dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE connectivity.
ZTE is one of the Chinese smartphone manufacturers that had some good market shares outside its home country. Even in some western countries, ZTE is ahead of other Chinese counterparts including Huawei and Lenovo. In March, the company had launched the mid-range Blade V580 smartphone in Japan. It comes is priced at JPY 27,800 and sports an Aluminum build body. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with almost stock Android like UI. The device also supports dual SIM with the help of hybrid SIM slot.
It features a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display. Under the hood, the Blade V580 is powered by MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. There is 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. It sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP selfie camera. The fingerprint sensor placed on the rear makes the device secure and can be used to capture images. It is backed by a 3,000mAh battery that can last upto 600 hours on standby mode. The device measures 155.3 x 77.2 x 8.6 mm and weighs 165 grams.
Oppo, which is the official partner for 2016 the ICC World T20 had announced a the Oppo F1 ICC WT20 limited edition smartphone. The internals of the device remains same as the earlier launched Oppo F1, expect the doubled storage of 32GB from 16GB. It features the official 2016 ICC WT20 logo engraved on the back of the device. While the Oppo F1 is priced at Rs. 15,990; the limited edition device costs Rs. 17,990 and the package include Selfie Stick, a Key Chain, and a protective case.
The device comes with an Aluminum body measuring just 7.25 mm thickness. It sports a 2.5D 5-inch HD display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection on top. The device comes powered by Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 405 GPU and 3GB of RAM. It offers some great captures with its 13MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie camera. The device is kept powered by a 2,500mAh battery. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with ColorOS 2.1 overlaid.
