- Few Other Tips
Check For Software Update
Specifically, all the Android users will get the software updates for their devices at regular intervals from the manufacturers. As all these updates are official, so it contains the fixes for minor bugs in the device and also enhancements for better performance. So, go and check for the software updates under ‘Settings>About phone’ and, download and run the updates if available.
Try Developer Options
In your device, developer options will give access to few extra features using which you can easily improve the device’s performance. But, you may not find these options on first hand and so you need to tap few times on the ‘Build Number’, under ‘Settings>About Phone’. Once you are done with that, then the options will get enabled, and you can find them under the device settings.
Try various options here and also if animation settings are pointed to 1X, then reduce it to 0.5X or you can completely turn them off. By disabling animation settings, you can see the change in the performance of the device as there will be no time lag in opening any app or any other.
Uninstall Apps and Clear App Cache
Android devices come with some pre-installed apps out of which few will be bloatware. So, these apps may cause the battery draining, over-heating and performance issues after few months of usage. Our advice for you is to remove all such apps from your device and keep safe. Check the system apps on your device and if you don’t feel any use from them, then get rid of such apps. Users also need to check the apps which are downloaded from play store as few of them will be useless and so find out the apps you have downloaded and uninstall those which are unnecessary.
Also, clear the cache of the apps whenever possible as it keeps on increasing the size whenever a specific app is opened. You can clear the cache simply by opening each app in the app manager and tap on ‘Clear Cache’.
Disable Live Wallpapers and Widgets
Are you using Live Wallpapers on your device? If yes, then you might be facing the lag in device performance after started using them. Live Wallpapers use extra energy from the processor and drive your phone slowly. So, we advise you to use normal wallpapers which give a better look for the phone instead of Live wallpapers.
If you are using widgets on the phone, try disabling them and look out for the performance. Because widgets also slow you device performance and so disable them or limit them to just one or two instead of filling your device with lots of widgets.
Wipe Cache Partition and Factory Reset
In your device recovery mode, you can perform certain tasks using which you can speed up your device. One such task is to wipe cache partition. All you need to do is, turn off your phone and enter into recovery mode (Press and hold volume up + power button at the same time for few seconds). Once you are in the recovery mode, use the volume buttons for scrolling up and down, and power button for selection. Now, select and confirm the ‘Wipe Cache Partition’ and after the process is done, go for ‘Reboot system Now’. That’s it; now you will have cleaned cache from your phone, and you can experience the better phone’s performance.
Also, you can perform factory data reset on your phone to gear up the functionality of the phone. To perform a factory reset, you can just tap on ‘Settings>Backup & Reset> Reset phone’. Or, you can perform this task by entering into recovery mode as explained above, where you need to select and confirm the ‘Wipe data/factory reset’ after which you need to go for ‘Reboot /system now’. This process will erase all the data from your device and makes it brand new, so we advise you to take the back up of the data before performing this task.
Few Other Tips
Other than above tips, you can also follow few more precautionary steps to boost up your device. Always turn off the WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity options whenever not in use and also disable auto options for brightness and rotation of the screen. Try to use original battery chargers for charging the device and never over-load the phone by opening several apps at once as it may result in hanging the device.
