Samsung Galaxy Note 6 to feature Snapdragon 823 SoC & 6GB of RAM

Samsung will launch the successor for Galaxy Note 5 in the second half of 2016. Though it is very early to talk about the upcoming Galaxy Note 6, few leaks from China reveals little information about the device. Normally, the Galaxy Note series will be updated in the month of September during the IFA. But the Galaxy Note 6 is rumored to be launched in the month of July. Since the upcoming iPhone 7iPhone 7 Plus will be unveiled around the same time as IFA 2016.

The current flagship devices, Galaxy S7S and Galaxy S7 Edge are powered by the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 SoC and in-house Exynos 8890 SoC. based on the latest information, the Galaxy Note 6 will come powered by Snapdragon 823 processor, the enhanced variant of Snapdragon 820. Along with the Galaxy Note 6, the LG G Flex 3 and an unknown Xperia device are said to use the same Snapdragon 823 processor.

The Snapdragon 823 processor comes with Kyro cores clocked at 3GHz along with 720MHz Adreno 530 GPU. It is also said to support upto 8GB of RAM and the Galaxy Note 6 is rumored to come with 6GB of RAM.Recently MediaTek also announced the Helio X25 deca-core processor as the enhanced version of Helio X20. While the later chipset is clocked at a maximum of 2.5GHz, the former is limited to 2.3GHz.

While there is no information about the upcoming Note 6, it might feature a 5.8-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) AMOLED display and is backed by a 3,220mAh battery. We can certainly expect some major upgrades in the S Pen usage and Samsung might bring even more productivity with it. As seen with the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, the Galaxy Note 6 might come with IP68 certification making the device waterproof and dustproof.

The Indian variant of Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are powered by Exynos 8890 processor instead of the Snapdragon 820 which is limited to western countries. As there are no details about the upgraded Exynos processor, we expect Snapdragon 823 powered Galaxy Note 6 to be made available across the world. Since this is too early to confirm the details of the device, we advise you to take them with a pinch of salt.
