Vernee is the latest Chinese smartphone brand that had unveiled two new smartphones Vernee Apollo and Thor. The Vernee Thor is a low-cost smartphone priced at $130 and sports competitive specification. On the other hand, the Vernee Apollo comes with the high-end specs which makes it a good alternative for any other recent flagships and also comes with a price tag of just $400.

As seen with the other smartphone brands, Vernee also came up with a lite/mini variant of the Apollo called as Vernee Apollo Lite. It features an all metal body, same as Apollo but with slight design modifications. The Apollo Lite comes with a slight curve on back that offers nice grip to hold on to the device. Even the fingerprint sensor and rear camera module come in a square shape unlike circular shape on Apollo.

It sports a 5.5-inch but is limited to Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution unlike the Quad HD resolution of Vernee Apollo. It is powered by the same Helio X20 deca-core processor along with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. The Apollo came with a whooping 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Vernee Apollo is the only smartphone next to Vivo XPlay 5S to feature 6GB of RAM.

Coming to the camera department, it has a 16MP rear camera with dual LED flash and a 5MP selfie camera on the front. It supports dual SIM dual standby by using the hybrid SIM slot, instead of the second SIM you can opt for MicroSD card for further storage expansion. While the Vernee Apollo is priced at $400, the new Apollo Lite costs only $200.

At this price, the Apollo Lite is most affordable Helio X20 powered smartphone available in the market. While there is no exact date for the availability of the device, we can expect the device sometime in the month of May. Apart from Apollo Lite, the company also said to be working the Thor Lite, which might be made official in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for more updates!
